The recent security checkpoint expansion at Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) enabled the TSA to increase the number of lanes at peak usage. A key component of this project is a new 100- foot-long LED screen mounted above the lane entry points (2.5mm display by Nanolumens). This screen’s primary purpose is to clearly and dynamically show passengers which lane to enter and the wait-time they can expect.

Overview
To achieve their goals, JAX turned to their longtime digital signage vendor, Art of Context (AOC), to create a flexible content system that could be driven by AOC’s digital content management system, Airport Display platform (ADP). Beyond flexible lane assignments and wait-times, secondary goals included engaging and useful content for the “meeters and greeters” that gather in white rocking chairs in front of the check point and “wow” content befitting their significant investment in this beautiful and large canvas.
