Multilingual interactive wayfinding at Boston Logan International Airport
An essential passenger touch-point at Boston Logan International Airport is the baggage re-check area for international arrivals. It is here that passengers need to recheck their bags for the next leg of their journey after exiting US Customs. At this juncture passengers need to quickly figure out how to get to their next flight, often from a gate in a different Terminal. This can be an intimating process, especially for non-English speaking passengers.
The AOC team designed a kiosk pilot to assist passengers in locating their connecting flight in their native language. Twelve languages are featured in the pilot. These interactions are also a key source of data on passenger language needs to help refine other passenger touch-point projects in the airport.
